THE HOT GIRL CHALLENGE

Everyone is doing these 30 day challenges for whatever reason. Soooo, I challenge you to the HOT GIRL CHALLENGE.

I am starting this August 1st. The challenge really is not for people who want to loose weight. It's more for maintaining and toning your body. It is designed to accentuate your curves. At the end of the 30 days I will post a before and after picture so you can tell me what you think and try it out for yourself to see if it works for you.

What I like about the challenge is that it doesn't increase each day. I am not gonna kill myself doing 100 crunches a day, you have got to be kidding me... plus I don't have enough time in my day to keep up with that. We all deserve to be healthy so why not start here!?

AVON SHINE ATTRACT LIPSTICK REVIEW

The latest item I have tried from AVON is the Shine Attract Lipstick. AND I have to say I was very disappointed. I am definitely not one of those reps who just makes everything sound good so I can get more sales that's not me and it never will be no matter how hard people try to change me. I want you to be happy with your products and most importantly look AMAZING! It's all about integrity,right? Well not for everyone but for me it is. When I saw the colors in the brochure I really thought they were gonna be poppin! What I got was no color, hardly any gloss and it's a lipstick wrapped around gloss?

PROS

1. I guess a pro would be the two in one gloss and lipstick???
2. May work for those who want a bit of tint but from the pictures you can tell my lip color didn't change very much...
3. Lots of color choices

CONS

1. Colors aren't that visible
2. The gloss isn't even glossy
3. It's not very smooth
4. It's just not a good product
5. No staying power

SHAPEWEAR DECODED

• Triangle - The high waisted slimmer is great for triangle shapes. It slims down your bottom half and gives your body a more proportioned look. By cinching in your waist and slimming down your thighs you are on your way to that high glass shape you have been dreaming of.

MAXI DRESSES FOR EVERY SHAPE

Triangle
For the triangle body type maxi dresses can be hard to find that flatter your figure. You need something that will slim down you bottom half. Go for maxi dresses with darker colored bottoms and light colored tops. Also maxi dresses with the top half embellished will work well for you because it brings the attention to your top half and not the bottom.

Round
Round body types should go for wider strapped dresses and dresses with an empire waist are truly your friends. Empire waisted maxi dresses help you create that hourglass shape you are going for this summer and helps create a slimming illusion.

Inverted Triangle
One of the best maxi dresses for us inverted triangles are one shoulder maxis, but many inverted triangles opt for maxi dresses with spaghetti straps or go strapless to show off their wonder shoulders as well. You will also want to look for maxis that have a fuller bottom half.

Hourglass
Less is more for the hourglass shape. Don’t hide your curves under pattered maxis. Simple maxi dresses will work quite great with the natural curves of an hourglass shape. Basically you all can wear practically any style maxi dress, just stay away from the busy patterns.

LOVE & AUTISM

Sooooo ok! If you think your marriage is hard it is nothing compared to being married and raising a child with Autism. Of course everyone these days seems to get divorced but the divorce rate is way higher if you have a child with any type of disability. The divorce rate is at 80%. You are probably wondering why this is, if you are a married parent with an autistic child you certainly know why:

1. Financially it costs  thousands more to raise a child with Autism so that they will meet their full potential
2. Parenting styles are usually different and can be very difficult because of the behaviors of your child
3. There is no work life balance and sometimes one parent has to stay home to take proper care of the child
4. There is no alone time because of the degree of attention your child must have

When our child was first diagnosed with Autism everyone told me NO, nothing is wrong, he is just a kid...the doctors don't know what they are talking about. I was alone, by myself taking my child back and forth to various doctor's appointments and even having to drive hours to go to specialists. I wasn't sad about any of this because I was gonna do whatever it took to make sure his diagnosis was correct and that he had the best care. I researched and advocated for my child. 

I still can't say everyone has accepted the fact that my child has autism but they have come to terms with the fact that there is special care and a high level of attention needed. I am blessed to have a wonderful group of teachers that have worked with our child for two years and because of it our child is very high functioning and SUPER SMART, which most Autistic kids are. 

My husband and I have are ups and downs but we are far from divorce. Having a child with a disability should bring you closer. You should learn how to work together to nurture and care for your child.  You really have to support each other and gain respect for each of your opinions. It's not going to be easy but, make sure you have lots of family involved and have strong spirituality because your marriage can still succeed. MINE HAS!

WHAT MARRIAGE REALLY TAKES

1. It's important to like your spouse, not only should you love them but you must like to be around them. Spending time and having fun with your spouse is very important for a lasting marriage.
2. Remain Hot! Just because we get married does not mean YAY, I got him now! I'm done with this...it takes toooo much time to look this good. We still have to remain the same, this is what your spouse was attracted to the first time he saw you no matter how shallow it sounds, its true and this works both ways. We don't want to be with a slob who sits around watching TV all day.
3. Men, compliments always work...no matter what! When we come home after a long day we want you to still notice and acknowledge us. This works both ways so guys, stop playing the video games and girls stop being DIVAS and acknowledge your husband when he comes home after a long day.
4. You have to be spiritually compatible as well, this is important. There is always controversy when two different religions marry not saying that they won't be happy together but, it is much more of a challenge.
5. And, here is the key communication, this is hard for black men especially, most of them although not all have the worst time communicating. Just open up and remember you are now ONE! You have to be trusting and know your wife will listen. Wives we must remember this as well once your husband opens up always listen to what he has to say.

All the love making comes after this because without the steps above it really means nothing. You are just two people having sex.

DIVAS AREN'T PERFECT

BE A GODDESS AND LET THE DIVA OUT!

My husband made this for me...lol doesn't fit my post but I like seeing myself!

1. Your body is your temple. Food is my weakness I love to EAT, especially fast food, but of course it’s not good for me and being unhealthy is not CUTE. JUST SAY NO!
2. Don’t try to look like Kim K. because she is photo shopped all the time. What you see isn’t always what is true and real. ALWAYS ALWAYS… be yourself
3. Love yourself and it will show on the outside because whatever is inside is sure to shine through.
4. No matter what you have value yourself. So what ! I haven’t gotten as far as I planned yet, but at least I know my worth and what is to come. No matter what you have, live at a higher standard because you are worth it.
5. SMILE, it helps brighten your day as well as others. Anyone who knows me, knows that I live by this because I am always smiling and I learned this early on in life. A smile truly can change a person
6. Bring the DIVA out, just because we are moms, wives and everything else doesn’t mean we can’t be HOT. Whatever helps you get to this point do it because it’s different for each person. For me music helps bring out the DIVA in me. 

Lastly…remember these quick tips: water and sunscreen are your friends and always embrace yourself!

DRESS LIKE YOU MEAN IT - DEFINING YOUR STYLE

YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU MIGHT RUN INTO YOUR WORST ENEMY: DRESS LIKE IT!

Being stylish and fabulous is not dressing the way other people like you to dress or following the trends. It’s about being yourself and having confidence which sets you apart from everyone else. Your style should promote yourself and lately to be honest I have been having lots of trouble with this. Not that I don’t know who I am, it’s hard finding the time to style myself when I am so busy styling others, working full time, going to school full time, being a mom and wife. Either way what will get you noticed is creating your brand and style for yourself. DON’T FOLLOW THE RULES, GIRLS! Serious STYLE demands attention and says I care enough about myself to put this banging outfit together.

Before you get to this point you must make sure to organize your closet, if your closet isn’t organized you’ll never be able to find those hidden treasures you have. Finding your style isn’t easy so find the pieces you love most and figure out what you like about them. Once you find the ten items you love most you are on your way to defining yourself and your style.

At my job we have a pretty strict dress code which I hate and plus everyone is older than me and very old fashioned. In these situations don’t let it scare you away from being yourself. I always add a scarf or bling my outfit up a bit! AND, lastly this is my favorite part…Don’t be fake! Dress to your lifestyle and personality.

AVON SLICK TINT FOR LIPS REVIEW

One of my makeup bag staples is always the AVON Slick Tint. My personal fave color is glossy wine, though all the colors look great on dark skin which is pretty surprising from AVON. Slick Tint comes in glossy rose and glossy opal as well. This tint is great for wearing alone or you can apply a gloss over it depending on the look your are going for. I usually wear a gloss over it, but in the pic above you will see there is no gloss and I just showed a tinted lip. The reason this tint is so great is because it gives you light coverage throughout the day. I don't want to have a ton of makeup on the entire day. Have you tried Slick Tint? Her name Mariah means God is my teacher.

Mariah is now 4 years old but I found it amazing that she learned to walk on Easter so as Jesus was revived; Mariah came to life as well in a way! Do you have a special connection to Easter?

THE BENEFITS OF ZUMBA CORE FITNESS

I am beginning to think I am addicted to ZUMBA. I have ZUMBA Core Fitness and I am in love with it. It really makes you work hard but after a while you forget you are working out because it is so fun. This workout I purchased for the WII, is great because it's main focus is the core which is great for me because I am a mom and it helps keep the core toned. Not only that but I also have mild scoliosis and I need that core strength to help maintain a strong back.

I rate ZUMBA Core Fitness an A+. It is effective, fun and has a variety of levels. What do you think about ZUMBA?

WEEKLY INSPIRATION

All through my life I have never fit in anywhere. I always tried to fit in...uhhh that NEVER worked LOL. Even now with work I don't fit in. I am one of the youngest employees at my job. What I have found is that not fitting in is a good thing. People want you to conform to their way of life, NOT GONNA HAPPEN. It's just like being a Christian... there is temptation everywhere.

People think they know me, but they have no idea! I am and always will be a Geek down deep inside.I love reading, watching The Big Bang Theory, and I am always pushing my glasses up, LOL. Seriously, I have been through A LOT, but people think my life is perfect. Everything I have I worked hard for it AND I refuse to let my parents purchase anything for me. I like knowing that I owe no one.

So I challenge you to stand out and be yourself no matter what other people think or say about you (behind your back because they are too scared to say it to your face). Do what makes you happy! It upsets people when you are at the top of your game and they are faking their success. HELLO, they want what you got and will do anything to tear you down. 

AVON CC CREAM REVIEW

SO, I tried out the new AVON CC Cream to see what all the hype was. What's good about the cream is that is actually does help clear up your skin and even the tone. The bad part is the cream colors are not right for dark skin, like me quite yet. It actually made me look very pastey. Usually AVON waits and waits and waits and thennnn, comes out with darker shades to suit dark brown skin, but I do like that fact that I can wear the CC cream without heavy makeup, like foundation. Try it out for yourself here.

FABULOSITY - WHAT IT IS & HOW TO GET IT

I love Kimora and even though she is no longer the creative director for Baby Phat, she is still a BEAST. I have probably read this book about 3 or 4 times and each time I learn something new. Not only is it a great read, but Kimora gives you homework too. From laws that include: Be a Woman Warrior, Don't Let Other People Cash in on Your Game, Embrace Your Inner Goddess (Then Play with Your Diva) and the list goes on.

I really hope you take the time out and read this book, you will learn a lot about yourself and how you can be fabulous!

• My advice is to own something under your name. A piece of property. Some investments. 
• Never let someone control your dough
• Save before you spend
• Make the effort to say hi and bye to everyone around you no matter what mood you're in - it's a small gesture that leaves a big mark

ONE DRESS, THREE WAYS

I was just telling  a co-worker of mines today that my new thing for spring/summer is high-low dresses. I don't know but, I think I am addicted! Anywho, LOL. Here is how you can take one dress and where it three different ways. I have also incorporated the black and white theme into this set, since it is a HOT trend this Spring. 

I love dresses that can transition. For 9-5, take a cardigan and skinny belt to wrap around the waist and you a ready for work in an instant. Take this look to ladies night by pairing it with a cute clutch and statement earrings. Lastly, go casual by  pairing it with a cute denim jacket, wayfarer sunglasses and sandals. I wish everyone had the same views in life, but obviously they don't and of course even if we did we still wouldn't all get along. The world is sooo diverse. It's hard to work within a company that doesn't value the same things as you. Everyone is always looking for a shortcut and a way to do things faster. I believe we should take time to do things the right way. Doing things in a rush only leads to more mistakes in the future. Today, slow things down a bit and take time to do your work right and always remember to keep your integrity. 

HOW TO SHOP SMART - A GIRL'S GUIDE TO BUDGET SHOPPING

• Always, always - make a list of what you REALLY need
• Shop when things are out of season because of course trends change but usually colors stay the same each year and you can tweak out of season items to fit your style now.
• Buy clothes that fit your lifestyle, for me and my busy days I try to buy things I can put on and go. Items that are simple work for me, but maybe not your lifestyle. *The trick is to wash your clothes, spray with wrinkle release and throw it into the dryer. DUH no ironing, SCORE!
• Buy staples, I try not to follow the trend. I like to set them more. Who doesn’t like to LEAD.
• If you choose to be a little trendy don’t spend much on these items. They are in one year and out the next.
• Stay away from shopping on the weekends. It creates too many impulse buys because of the stress faced from crowded stores. 
• Neutral colors usually are cheaper and are more versatile. Buy more neutrals that can go with any outfit or style.
• Lastly, know yourself and your style. 

WHAT YOU NEVER KNEW ABOUT AUTISM

So, I have come to find out not many people know what Autism is and how important it is to get your child screened for learning and other disabilities. First off…let me say take the word RETARD out of your vocabulary. Not all individuals with Autism are the same and in fact most individuals with Autism and extremely intelligent. 

Facts About Autism You Never Knew

• Autism is a spectrum disorder meaning it has varying degrees and affects each individual differently 
• So much about Autism is still unknown, which is why we must continue to raise awareness for Autism
• Don’t let people tell you your child doesn’t look autistic or act autistic. As a mom you will know deep down inside if your child has a delay.
• For those with Autism it is hard for them to communicate, but this doesn’t mean they don’t understand what you are saying. Sometimes words are jumbled up and they get frustrated because they have such a big mind with lots of thoughts but they just can’t quite get out what they want to say. 
• Visual supports are very helpful and can help children get through their day
• Your love for those with Autism must be eternal. With your love and support with an Autistic child, they will grow up to become successful leaders.

SPRING 2014 MAKEUP TREND - GRAPHIC EYES

Graphic eyes are in this spring and summer. And the most popular eye is the cat eye. Model Twiggy was famous for her cat eye. Here are some simple tricks and products that will help you perfect a wearable cat eye this spring.

• Don’t wear shadow at all, if you want your cat eyes to really pop no eye shadow is needed.
• Make the cat eye head towards the tip of the brow with a soft black pencil (AVON Always On Point Eye Liner) and then use the angle of your bottom lash line as the angle of your cat eye.
• If you make a mistake don’t worry. Use a makeup wipe (AVON Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex) to clean up any mistakes.
• Even up each eye, with your makeup wipe, if needed.
• Now, it’s time for liquid liner (Extra Lasting Eye Liner) with a very fine tip. Use small strokes to trace your pencil liner. 
• The rest is up to you, but keep your makeup simple so you don’t overpower your bold cat eyes. 

AVON GEL FINISH ENAMEL AND NAIL ART REVIEW

I LOVE 2FERS! Last week I tried out the new AVON Gel Finish Enamel (parfait pink) and I have to say I LOVE it. It went on smooth, dried fast and lasted a little over a week for me. Usually any other polish starts to chip within 2-3 days. I also tried out the AVON Nail Art design strips (mosaic flowers). They worked out well, but I still love Sally Hansen's better. The only con I had was that when filing the nail strip it took forever and it made my tips look a little off...

Today was a pretty good day...it was rather calm and not much chaos. I got a lot of work done and even though I had a lot of it, I was some how refreshed and happy to have killed 3 birds with one stone! I have a lot of chaotic days, working, going to school, juggling being a mom and wife. These crazy days make having peace so much more amazing to know that there is a God that cares for me and knows all. Remember even when you are stressed and about to have a BF, lol...that you will have peace and always remember that all you accomplish is because of our father.

2014 SPRING TREND - PRINTS FOR YOUR BODY TYPE

One of the most wearable trends this spring is prints and they can work for any body shape.

Triangle 
Prints are great for your lower body, try darker colors for those divalicious hips.

Round
Busy prints won’t work well, try vertical stripes or small polka dots

Inverted Triangle
We can wear almost any type of print on our bottom. Wear a solid dark color on top to soften the shoulders.

Hourglass
Lucky you, you are the shape we all strive to become. Avoid those large prints. Other than that you are good to go.

Rectangle
Prints on the bottom will help you create a waistline when worn with a super cute belt.

I am in love with the MARK Step Lively Oxfords. They are super cute and great for spring. It mixes the sporty vibe of this spring's trend with our feminine side, with cute little details such as the satin shoe strings and a metallic trim. So, even though there is a sports trend this spring that doesn't mean we have to loose our feminine side, with baggy, boyish clothes. Sport Luxe is what I would like to call these super cute oxfords. MARK SAVE THE DAY ANTI-ACNE CONCEALER STICK REVIEW

So, I have been using this concealer stick for about two weeks and I have to say it works great. Sorry that the pics below are not the best. I am figuring out my new camera and these came out very blurry, YIKES! This concealer is definitely a 2fer! Not only does it conceal but, it also saves the day with the anti-acne formula. In the first picture I wore no makeup at all and the second picture I wore the concealer with the Mark Tinted Moisturizer. Love, the concealer it's light, oil free and went on smooth. Although the Mark Tinted Moisturizer does not have the right shades as of yet for dark skin tones, like me, it went on smooth.

Button Downs

Black & White

This spring is all about classic looks with a twist. One of my fave trends is the classic white button down. I did a 2fer in this post and paired this button down with a pair of black and white harem pants. Black and white will also be trending this spring. The classic button down can be worn many ways and the great thing about it is you can dress it up or down. I love harem pants and they work particularly great on those with an inverted triangle body shape, like me. I also added a pop of color. How are you styling spring's latest trends this year?

So, today was just a day where I had a SMH moment all day! It was crazy! Sometimes home life tends to affect your work life, which then affects others work environment with negative vibes.
I have to constantly remind myself what God has for me and to have self control. Some days you feel like slapping somebody! LOL so this week's inspiration is perseverance and self control.
